Training to become an independent funeral celebrant was less a decision and more a calling for me.
I was invited by something greater than me into this special line of work.
It took me a few years to gather the courage to respond to the calling but I believe in divine timing and with a decade of therapeutic coaching experience, several years working as a presenter, host and speaker as well as several years working in the events management industry, it seemed that at the age of 45 I had reached a stage where I was fully equipped with life experience and skills to perform the role of celebrant with professionalism, empathy and great love.
I have experienced my own heartache and loss. I personally organised and spoke at the funerals of my Mother, Grandfather and Grandmother and have attended funerals of others very dear to my heart.
I understand and know the need to say good bye to the people we love in a way that completely honours their life so the experience must be unique and special for every family.
I do not offer a cookie cutter approach. From the moment we first speak you have my heart, understanding and empathy. We will work together in the most intimate and special way to create a ceremony for the person you are grieving. I am exceptionally skilful at holding space for you to talk, feel your feelings and share the stories of the person we will be honouring. I will create the most beautiful and personal story of their life as contribution to their funeral service. I will also guide you through all that is available to you at the service so that we can create an experience that is deeply personal, healing and memorable.
Together we will honour and celebrate the life of the person that is so special to you.
